Bangladesh Coast Guard and the US Army have launched a joint exercise titled “Guardian Shark” in Chattogram.
The exercise runs through 25 November and focuses on
swift water rescue and medical training, said a press release.
It intends to improve both forces' readiness and
build a shared approach to planning and carrying out emergency and crisis
responses. Participants will share best practices and work through realistic
scenarios to improve their ability to save lives during floods, cyclones, and
other emergencies.
Exercise Guardian Shark shows the US commitment to
working with Bangladesh on shared security concerns in the region. Through
exercises like this one, the two countries deepen their cooperation and their
shared commitment to a free, open, secure, and prosperous region.
