Seven more children die from measles symptoms

Seven more children died from measles symptoms in the 24 hours till 8am on Tuesday morning, taking the total death toll to 1,240.

Over the same period, 1,232 more people were diagnosed with measles symptoms and 63 others with confirmed measles, said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) in an update.

Since 15 March, 2,23,784 people have been diagnosed in the measles outbreak, including 23,541 diagnosed with confirmed measles cases.

Among the total patients, 1,99,127 have been hospitalised, of which 1,91,090 have been discharged following improvements in health conditions.

Since 15 March, 105 children have died from confirmed measles infection and 1,135 others with measles-like symptoms or suspected measles.
