The Inter-Education Board Examination Control Committee has dismissed as false a notice claiming that the results of the 2026 Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations will be published on 29 October.
The committee said the claim circulating on social media was entirely false, fabricated and intended to mislead the public.
The committee issued an urgent public notice on Thursday (22 October), signed by its convener, Professor Jesmin Taslima Banu, also controller of examinations at the Dhaka Education Board.
The notice said the education boards had no connection with the misleading announcement circulating on social media about the date and time of the publication of the 2026 HSC results.
It said all decisions, notices and instructions concerning examinations and results were published through the official websites and verified Facebook pages of the Ministry of Education, the Bangladesh Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee and the relevant education boards.
The committee urged examinees, parents, teachers, heads of educational institutions, centre in-charges and members of the public not to believe or share information circulating on social media without verifying its authenticity.
It also called on everyone to refrain from spreading rumours and misleading information.
