Three tourists die, two missing at Himchari beach

Three tourists died after being swept away by strong currents while bathing at Himchari beach in Cox’s Bazar on Wednesday evening. 

One person was rescued alive, while two others remained missing.

Confirming the matter, Ramu Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md Zillur Rahman said a group of tourists went to the beach beside the museum near Marina Resort.

They were swept away by waves and currents while bathing, he said.

Locals later rescued an individual alive and sent him to hospital.

The UNO also said the bodies of three tourists were recovered from the spot. Police were conducting a search operation for the two missing tourists, he added
