DNCC administrator visits puja mandap in Bashundhara

Md Safiqul Islam Khan, administrator of the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), handed over grants worth total Tk1.4 lakh to the Durga Puja festival arrangement committee at Bashundhara Sarbajanin Puja Mandap in Bashundhara Residential Area in the capital on Tuesday.

He donated Tk1 lakh from his personal deposits and another Tk40,000 from DNCC funds to ensure smooth arrangement of the Durga Puja festival, and well-being of the local Hindu community.

Safiqul went to the puja mandap at 7:30pm, and upon reaching, exchanged Durga Puja greetings with the Hindu devotees present there. He also enquired about the health and overall well-being of the Hindu people and other visitors at the site.

Afterwards, Safiqul inspected the security arrangement of the puja mandap and observed the festive atmosphere.

Leaders of the puja celebration committee expressed gratitude to the DNCC administrator for the visit, and the financial assistance.
