Police recovered
the body of a Pakistani national from an apartment in South Banasree area of
the capital on Tuesday morning.
The gatekeeper of the house first spotted the hanging body of Mohammad Shahbaz, 26, through the window from outside, and informed the Khilgaon Police Station, said the police station’s Sub-Inspector Jubayer.
Police then
reached the spot, broke down the door and brought down the body hanging from
the ceiling. The body has been sent to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital for
autopsy, Jubayer said.
Initial
signs suggest the Pakistani national committed suicide out of frustrations over
debt burdens and disagreements with his wife, Jubayer said.
Shahbaz
has been living in Bangladesh for a long time and also owned a business in the
country.
He hails
from Jalalpur in Multan district of Punjab province in Pakistan.
