PM joins ZRF’s 27th founding anniversary programme

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Sunday joined a discussion session marking the 27th founding anniversary of the Ziaur Rahman Foundation (ZRF) as the chief guest.

The programme began at the Shaheed Abu Sayed International Convention Centre in the capital’s Shahbagh area this evening.

ZRF Vice-President Dr Zubaida Rahman and BNP Acting Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi attended the event as special guests.

Prof Dr Morshed Hasan Khan, director of the foundation and convener of the anniversary celebration committee, delivered the welcome address at the programme being chaired by ZRF Executive Director Prof Dr Farhad Halim.

The event began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by screening of a video documentary highlighting the foundation’s philanthropic activities.

Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed, Social Welfare Minister Prof Dr. Abu Zafar Md Zahid Hossain, Food Minister Afroza Khanam and State Minister for Land Mir Mohammed Helal Uddin, among others, also attended the programme being moderated by Prof Dr Sarkar Mahbub Ahmed Shamim, member secretary of the anniversary celebration committee.
