Journalist Tarikul Islam’s mother dies at 67

Dilara Begum, mother of journalist Tarikul Islam, media coordinator to the spokesperson at the Prime Minister’s Office, died at the age of 67 after suffering from kidney complications for a long time.

She was declared dead by doctors at Mugda Medical College Hospital in Dhaka at around 8:45am on Saturday.

She was taken to the hospital that morning, where the duty doctors declared her dead.

Dilara Begum is survived by three sons and numerous well-wishers.

Tarikul Islam said his mother would be buried at the family graveyard after her funeral prayers in Kanshi village of Uzirpur upazila in Barishal.

BNP Acting Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Dilara Begum. In the message, the BNP leader expressed his sympathy to the bereaved family, relatives and well-wishers.
