Bangladeshi students and young researchers can apply for tuition-free higher education and research opportunities at leading Russian universities through the Open Doors: Russian Scholarship Project Olympiad for the 2027-28 academic year.

The registration deadline is 1 November 2026, according to a press release issued by the Russian House in Dhaka.

Organised by the Association of Global Universities in collaboration with Russia’s Ministry of Science and Higher Education and Rossotrudnichestvo, the international academic competition covers four tracks -- bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral and postdoctoral -- across 14 subject areas.

The disciplines include engineering, medicine, computer science, natural sciences, economics and humanities.

Successful candidates may qualify for tuition-free admission to eligible programmes taught in English or Russian. Winners of Russian-taught bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral programmes may also receive government grant benefits, including travel expenses, accommodation, medical insurance and a monthly stipend, subject to applicable conditions.

Postdoctoral participants can access advanced research opportunities under the guidance of leading scientists.

Since its launch in 2017, the Olympiad has attracted more than 618,000 participants from over 200 countries, with more than 16,700 winners and runners-up, the release said.

Interested applicants can register through the official website at https://od.globaluni.ru.

The Russian House in Dhaka also offers online guidance sessions every Monday and Thursday from 3pm to 5pm to help applicants understand programme selection, document preparation and application procedures.

Consultation links are available on the official Facebook page of the Russian House in Dhaka in Dhanmondi.

The initiative is part of broader educational cooperation between Bangladesh and Russia, aimed at expanding international academic opportunities, developing skilled professionals and strengthening people-to-people ties between the two countries.

The Russian House has encouraged eligible students and young researchers to review the official participation rules and complete their registration before the deadline.
