The government has published the final recruitment gazette for the 45th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) examination, appointing 1,702 candidates to different cadres, more than 10 months after the final results were announced.

The Public Administration Ministry issued the gazette late on Wednesday night. The appointees have been asked to join their designated offices under the respective cadre-controlling ministries or divisions by 1 November.

According to the notification, the appointments were made based on the Bangladesh Public Service Commission’s (BPSC) recommendations dated 14 December 2025.

The BPSC published the final results on 26 November 2025, recommending 1,807 candidates for different cadres. The recruitment process began in November 2022.

Delays in issuing appointment gazettes have also affected candidates from the 46th and 47th BCS examinations. The final results for the 46th BCS, published in February this year, provisionally recommended 1,457 candidates, who have been waiting for their appointment gazette for 235 days.

For the 47th BCS, the BPSC recommended 1,320 candidates for cadre posts and 201 for non-cadre posts when it announced the final results on 28 June. More than four months later, the recruitment gazette has yet to be published.

Such delays have occurred in previous BCS examinations as well. The appointment gazettes for the 41st and 43rd BCS examinations were published 231 and around 294 days after the respective final results or recommendations, while the 40th BCS recruitment process took 216 days after the final results.
