Prime Minister’s Adviser Mahdi Amin has said the government aims to ensure the proper growth of Bangladeshi architects so that they can have their marks both at home and abroad.
“Architecture is a specialised profession. It is
creative, innovative and most importantly associated with everyday life. Our
country has some extraordinary architects and huge potential. The government’s
aim is to create a proper platform so that these architects can reach newer heights
in their career,” Mahdi said.
The adviser made the remarks while speaking as chief
guest at the International Architecture Education Conference held in the
capital on Friday.
Mahdi said, “I have learnt that at least 1,000
architecture graduates are coming out of universities every year. As a government,
our role is to create a link between this supply and the market demand. Opportunities
for higher education or enough employment for these graduates need to be
ensured.”
“The government highly regards architecture as a
discipline and a profession. We will do everything so that our talented architects
can have great impacts on the world stage. We have many such examples, and we
want our architects from this generation to bring such success too,” Mahdi
added.
