The Chattogram Port Authority (CPA) has restricted unauthorised photography, video recording and dissemination of visual information about the port’s facilities and activities.
The directive was issued on Tuesday,
asking all concerned to comply strictly, according to a press release signed by
the CPA secretary.
The authority said all places and
installations within the port area are designated as “restricted port areas”
under Section 12 of the Chattogram Port Authority Act, 2022.
It said unauthorised photography,
publication or dissemination of information, designs or other sensitive
materials related to state security and interests are punishable offences under
the Official Secrets Act, 1923.
The authority also warned against
sharing information about the port’s security arrangements, surveillance
systems, infrastructure layouts and operational activities on social media,
online platforms, mass media or other outlets without prior permission.
Violators will face legal action under
existing laws, security regulations and the port’s internal rules, the CPA
said.
