Rail services with Sylhet resumed after nearly four hours on Friday following the recovery of seven coaches of the Paharika Express that had been left behind in Lawachara forest.
The coaches were recovered around 5:30pm,
restoring train services across the country to and from Sylhet.
Earlier, around 1:30pm, seven coaches of the Chattogram-bound intercity Paharika Express became detached after a coupling clip broke in the Lawachara National Park area of Kamalganj upazila in Moulvibazar.
The train’s engine and seven coaches then
proceeded to Sreemangal Railway Station, leaving the seven detached coaches
behind in the forest.
Sreemangal Railway Station Master Shakhawat
Hossain said a separate locomotive was brought in to recover the detached
coaches.
