The government has withdrawn 68 assistant commissioners (land) from different upazilas and attached them to the offices of the respective divisional commissioners pending their next postings.
The Ministry of Public Administration issued separate notifications in this regard on Monday, saying the officials would serve as senior assistant commissioners at the divisional commissioners’ offices with immediate effect.
Md Barman Hossain, senior assistant secretary of the ministry’s Field Administration-1 branch, signed the notifications issued by order of the President.
ACs (land) play an important role in land management, revenue collection, mutation and settlement of land-related disputes, as well as in implementing various government administrative activities.
The notifications said the withdrawal and attachment of the officials to the divisional commissioners’ offices were part of the administrative process for their next postings.
Copies of the notifications were sent to the cabinet secretary, Prime Minister’s Office, Ministry of Land, concerned offices, and divisional commissioners, deputy commissioners, and district magistrates for necessary action.
The Bangladesh Government Press was asked to publish the notifications in the next issue of the official gazette.
Authorities were also instructed to update the officials’ information on relevant government websites and in the Government Employees Management System.
