Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Minister Abdul Moyeen Khan on Tuesday urged young people to prepare themselves to contribute to nation-building through their skills and leadership.
“There is a war to fight for those who are
young. This is not a war with weapons, but a war to build a developed
Bangladesh,” he said, stressing that ensuring a better future for the country’s
large population is one of the biggest responsibilities facing the youth.
He was speaking as the chief guest at the
Graduation Ceremony-2026 organised by the Bangladesh Youth Leadership Centre at
the Krishibid Institution Bangladesh auditorium in the capital.
The minister said the training and leadership development programmes of the Bangladesh Youth Leadership Centre are preparing young people to face future challenges. He described the training as preparation for taking on the broader responsibility of building the country.
He said Bangladesh’s history is rich with the
sacrifices and contributions of young people, who played important roles from
the Language Movement to the country’s independence and various stages of
establishing democracy.
“Those who are graduating today are beginning
a new chapter in their lives. Alongside personal success, they must use their
knowledge, skills and leadership abilities for the welfare of the country and
its people,” he said.
Addressing the graduates, Moyeen Khan said
they face major challenges and must prepare themselves to overcome them.
“You have to work for the country, its people
and the future of Bangladesh,” he said.
Officials of the Bangladesh Youth Leadership
Centre, trainers, students and invited guests attended the programme.
