70 families of armed forces personnel who were martyred or seriously injured during the Bangladesh Rifles revolt, UN peacekeeping missions, and various other operational and non-operational incidents, got flats in Mirpur DOHS.
Allotment letters for those flats built in the multi-storey
residential complex "Aporajita" at Mirpur DOHS were handed over to
the families by the Defence Secretary Md Ashraf Uddin at a ceremony held in the
conference room of the Ministry of Defence on Tuesday.
Under the supervision of the DOHS Central Committee and with
government approval, a total of 156 flats have been constructed across two
residential buildings in Mirpur DOHS.
Officials from the Ministry of Defence, the Department of Military Lands and Cantonments, Army Headquarters, and Sena Kalyan Constructions and Developments Limited (SKCD) were present at the event alongside the flat recipients.
During the ceremony, deep respect was paid to the armed
forces members who made the ultimate sacrifice or sustained critical injuries
while serving the nation and global peace. Prayers were offered for the eternal
peace of the departed souls of the martyrs, and heartfelt sympathies were
conveyed to the bereaved families.
