Cambodian law enforcement authorities detained nine Bangladeshi nationals on Saturday during a raid on a suspected cyber-scam operation in Phnom Penh, according to the authorities.

The raid was conducted on 19 September 2026 at a house on Street 02B in Moule village of Dangkor commune in Phnom Penh’s Dangkor district as part of a crackdown on activities involving foreign nationals.

Authorities said they uncovered a suspected online scam operation allegedly involving the nine Bangladeshis during the raid.

Police seized several items as evidence, including six all-in-one computers, 15 mobile phones and a number of counterfeit US dollar notes.

The nine Bangladeshis and the seized evidence were initially taken to the Phnom Penh Municipal Police Commissariat for further investigation and legal action.

They were later sent to the prosecutor at the Phnom Penh Municipal Court for preparation of charges and further legal proceedings.
