Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) has added five new container carrier trucks to its waste management fleet to improve and modernise waste collection and transportation in the city.
DNCC Administrator Md Shafiqul Islam Khan Milton inaugurated the new trucks and also drove one of them during the programme.
The trucks will be used to remove waste quickly and efficiently from secondary transfer stations (STSs) under the city corporation and transport it to designated landfills.
The addition of the modern heavy vehicles will increase DNCC’s waste transportation capacity and allow the city corporation to transfer waste to landfills in less time.
DNCC aims to make waste management more modern and efficient through greater mechanisation, while also contributing to environmental protection.
