The three-day 13th Asian Tourism Fair (ATF) began at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in the capital on Thursday, with more than 200 organisations from 10 countries, including Bangladesh, taking part.

Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister M Rashiduzzaman Millat inaugurated the fair. Ambassadors and high commissioners from different countries and tourism industry stakeholders were present.

Organised to attract domestic and foreign tourists and promote business opportunities in the tourism sector, the fair will remain open to visitors from 10am to 7pm every day.

According to the organisers, around 300 stalls have been set up at the fair, featuring hotels, resorts, tour operators, travel agencies, airlines, government and private tourism organisations, and foreign embassies showcasing their tourism products and services.

The fair features a “Destination Bangladesh Showcase”, “International Tourism Showcase” and “Bangladesh Tourism Investment Showcase”. It also includes business-to-business (B2B) sessions, seminars, destination presentations, panel discussions, product promotions and networking sessions.

Cultural performances from Bangladesh, Nepal and the Philippines will also be held every evening.
