Dengue deaths near 150 with six new fatalities

Deaths from the dengue outbreak have neared 150 so far this year after six new fatalities were reported in the 24 hours till 8am on Sunday.

Over the 24-hour period, 1,561 others were hospitalised with the mosquito-borne disease, said the Directorate General of Health Services in an update.

Total deaths have reached 149, and total infections have risen to 51,837.

Among the latest six deaths, two were reported in each of Chattogram and Khulna divisions, while one each in Dhaka and Mymensingh divisions. The city corporation areas inside these divisions did not report a single death.
