Gas supply to several areas of the capital, including Basabo, Khilgaon, Madartek, Shahjahanpur, Sipahibagh and Malibagh, will remain suspended for eight hours on Thursday (10 September).
The suspension is necessary to install valves
on both sides of the railway tracks at the Shahjahanpur railway crossing and
carry out tie-in work to relocate a gas distribution line under the Dhaka Elevated
Expressway project.
According to a notice issued by Titas Gas
Transmission and Distribution PLC on Wednesday, gas supply to all residential
and commercial customers in Basabo, Khilgaon, Madartek, Shahjahanpur,
Sipahibagh, Tilpapara, Malibagh, Shantibagh, Taltala Market and adjoining areas
will remain suspended from 1pm to 9pm on Thursday.
Areas surrounding the affected locations may
also experience low gas pressure during the period, the notice said.
Titas Gas authorities expressed regret for the temporary inconvenience caused to customers.
