Rafiqul Islam appointed new BPC chairman

Additional Secretary Md Rafiqul Islam has been appointed chairman of Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC).

The Ministry of Public Administration appointed him to the post on deputation through a transfer.

The ministry issued a notification in this regard from its Deputation-1 section on Sunday.

According to the notification, Dr Rafiqul is currently serving as a member of the Bangladesh Energy and Power Research Council (BEPRC). He was also under a transfer order to the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs as an additional secretary.

The notification said the order, issued in the public interest, would take immediate effect.
