Journalists to rally for 10th Wage Board, interim allowance Thursday

Journalists and media workers will hold a rally in front of the National Press Club in Dhaka on Thursday to demand the immediate formation of the 10th Wage Board, announcement of an interim cost-of-living allowance and implementation of the 9th Wage Board award with arrears at media organisations where it has yet to be implemented.

The rally has been organised jointly by the Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) and the Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ), according to a press release issued by the DUJ on Wednesday.

Journalist leaders as well as leaders of different professional organisations will address the rally.

BFUJ Secretary General Kader Gani Chowdhury and DUJ General Secretary Khurshid Alam urged journalists and other media workers to join the rally on time.
