Gazette issued announcing Mirza Fakhrul as president

The Election Commission (EC) has issued a gazette notification announcing Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir as the elected president.

According to Section 11 of President Election Act 1991, and the announcement by the election officer and election commissioner, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, son of Mirza Ruhul Amin of Kalibari village of Thakurgaon district, has been declared the president of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, read the gazette.

The gazette notification, issued this evening, was signed by Senior Secretary of the Election Commission Secretariat Akhtar Ahmed.
