Model ‘kills self’ keeping romantic partner on video call

Ridhika Ridhi, a model and drama actress, have died by hanging from a ceiling fan at her home in the Vatara Police Station area in the capital.

Police suspect Ridhi, 26, committed suicide keeping her romantic partner on video call after an intense argument with him during the call at dawn.

Mazharul Islam, officer-in-charge (OC) at Vatara Police Station, told the Daily Sun, citing family sources, that Ridhi had a “love affair” with one Hasibur Rahman. 

The family members found her hanging body in the morning, and rushed her to Kurmitola General Hospital where she was declared dead.

Being informed, police went to the hospital from where the body was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) for autopsy.

The OC informed that the family members came to the police station for filing an abetment case.

Alongside modelling, Ridhi had acted in several television dramas, including “Ekhane Manush Bikri Hoy”, “Bohurupi”, “Double Honeymoon” and “Shundori”.
