A Dhaka court on Wednesday summoned four people, including former Detective Branch (DB) Senior Assistant Police Commissioner Md Nazmul Haque, to appear before it by 19 August in a case filed over fraud and criminal intimidation.
The other accused are former Officer-in-Charge

Mokarram Hossain Jimi.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mahbub Alam
passed the order after taking cognisance of the investigation report submitted
by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), said the complainant's lawyer
Advocate Afzal Hossain Mridha.
Earlier, in 2024, Majumdar Arifur Rahman
filed the case before the court, which subsequently ordered the CID to
investigate the matter. Following the investigation, CID Inspector Ziaul
Morshed submitted the report to the court on 21 May.
According to the report, a dispute arose
between Atikur Rahman, owner of a sweater company, and Saidur Rahman Habib over
business transactions.
A case was later filed against Atikur Rahman,
who was subsequently arrested. The report alleged that the accused had coerced
him into signing cheques and had taken financial benefits in the name of a
settlement.
