The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) on Tuesday slashed the prices of jet fuel (Jet A-1) for domestic and international airlines by Tk19.22 and $0.1252 per litre.
Now the price of Jet A-1 fuel has come down
to Tk130.99 from Tk150.21 per litre for domestic carriers. For international
carriers, the price has been fixed at $0.8556 from US$0.9808 per litre.
The new rates will be effective from midnight
on Tuesday, said BERC Secretary Md Nazrul Islam Sarkar.
The BERC said the new prices have been
determined by considering the average price of the Platts Rate from 5 June to 4
July 2026.
In view of the proposal of Bangladesh
Petroleum Corporation (BPC) and Padma Oil Company Limited (POCL), the
regulatory authority held a public hearing today as per sections 34 (4) and 34
(6) of the Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission Act, 2003.
In the public hearing, the BERC has
determined the new prices for the month of July by considering the detailed
price of the Platts Rate of Jet A-1 fuel from 5 June to 4 July, as well as the
exchange rate of the US dollar in the settlement of the Letter of Credit (LC)
of BPC, it said.
