A Dhaka court on Sunday fixed 1 September for the hearing on charge framing against Tulip Rizwana Siddiq in a case filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) over alleged flat fraud in Gulshan-2 in the capital.
Judge Abdullah Al Mamun of Dhaka Special Judge
Court-5 set the date, ACC prosecutor Mir Ahmed Ali Salam said. Former RAJUK
assistant legal adviser Sardar Mosharraf Hossain is also an accused in the
case.
He said that the defence for accused Mosharraf
Hossain, who is out on bail in the case, requested additional time, seeking to
postpone the hearing on the framing of charges. After the hearing, the court
set a new date for the proceedings.
Earlier, on 18 February, arrest warrants were issued
against Tulip Siddiq and Sardar Mosharraf Hossain after Dhaka Metropolitan
Senior Special Judge Md Sabbir Faiz accepted the charge sheet.
As Tulip Siddiq has long been living abroad, a Red
Notice was issued through Interpol on 26 February to facilitate her arrest.
On 15 April last year, the ACC filed the case
against Tulip Siddiq, Shah Md Khorshujjaman and Sardar Mosharraf Hossain on
allegations of unlawfully acquiring a flat from Eastern Housing Limited in
Gulshan-2 without making any payment and by abusing power.
After completing the investigation, the ACC
submitted the charge sheet on 11 December 2025 against Tulip Siddiq and Sardar
Mosharraf Hossain.
