Two platoons of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have been deployed to ensure security and maintain law and order during the 199th Eid congregation at the historic Sholakia Eidgah in Kishoreganj ahead of the holy Eid-ul-Azha.
Eid-ul-Azha, one of the biggest religious festivals for Muslims, will be celebrated in the country on Thursday.
According to a BGB press release issued on Wednesday, alongside safeguarding the borders, the force has been carrying out its duties with professionalism in maintaining internal law and order nationwide.
As part of these ongoing efforts, special security measures have been taken to ensure the safety of devotees attending one of the country’s largest Eid congregations.
The deployed BGB personnel will work in coordination with the district administration and other law enforcement agencies to establish a security perimeter around the Eid congregation venue and adjacent areas.
BGB expressed hope that, through the combined efforts of all security agencies, this year’s Eid congregation at Sholakia will be held in a peaceful, orderly, and secure environment.
The Eid-ul-Azha congregation at Sholakia Eidgah is scheduled to be held at 9am.
