Govt to recruit 5 lakh workers over five years

The government has decided to recruit a large number of workers and fill five lakh vacancies at different levels of the administration over the next five years, said Information and Broadcasting Minister Zahir Uddin Swapon on Tuesday.

The minister announced the public job creation target at a press briefing held marking the government’s three months in office.

All the ministries and divisions have been asked to provide details of the vacancies under their jurisdiction and recruitment plans to the Cabinet Division, the minister added.

Earlier in April, the Ministry of Public Administration sent letters to the ministries and divisions asking them to provide relevant information in a specified table.
