Govt to set up new EPZ in Brahmanbaria

The government has taken an initiative to establish a new Export Processing Zone (EPZ) in Brahmanbaria.

The proposed industrial zone will be set up at the ‘Tin Lakh Pir’ area in Binauti union under Kasba upazila.

The proposal has been accepted by the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA).

The information was confirmed in a letter signed by BEPZA Executive Director (Investment Development) Md Tanvir Hossain on Sunday.

According to the letter, the proposal to establish the EPZ in the Tin Lakh Pir area of Binauti union was accepted following an application submitted on 24 March 2026.

The authorities also said necessary steps would be taken in accordance with the rules in this regard.
