A Dhaka court on Wednesday imposed a travel ban on Mohammad Abu Noman, a business partner of former minister AHM Mustafa Kamal and his daughter Nafisa Kamal.
Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Sabbir Faiz passed the order following a petition filed by Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Director Md Abul Hasnat.
According to the petition, an investigation is underway against Abu Noman over allegations related to the permanent closure of all his medical check-up centres and the nationalisation of his assets.
The ACC said the accused frequently travels abroad, stays overseas for much of the year, and may hold multiple citizenships.
He is allegedly attempting to flee the country, which could hamper the ongoing investigation, the petition added.
