Fire breaks out at shoe factory in Old Dhaka

A fire broke out on Monday night at a shoe factory located on a seven-storey building at Agamasi Lane on Aga Sadek Road in Old Dhaka.

Talha bin Zasim, media officer of the Fire Service and Civil Defence, said the fire originated on the fourth floor of the building at around 10:45pm, prompting a swift response from firefighters.

Three firefighting units rushed to the scene and began operations immediately upon arrival, he added.

Thick smoke was seen billowing from the upper levels as firefighters worked to contain the flames and prevent the fire from spreading to other floors.

Efforts are ongoing to bring the situation under full control.
