NCP leaders signed the July National Charter at the Chief
Adviser’s official residence, state guesthouse Jamuna, in the capital on Monday
evening.
However, the party wrote in a comment section that the
“notes of dissent” have to be dropped from the charter, and the document has to
be implemented in its entirety in keeping with the people’s mandate reflected
in the 12 February referendum.
NCP Convener Nahid Islam and Member Secretary Akhter Hossen
signed the charter. The two lawmaker-elects led a six-member delegation to
Jamuna for the signing.
Other members of the delegation included: Sarowar Tushar,
Manira Sharmin, Jabed Rasin and Advocate Jahirul Islam Musa.
Twenty-five other political parties, including BNP and
Jamaat-e-Islami, signed the charter at the South Plaza of National Parliament
on 17 October last year.
NCP refrained from joining the ceremony.
