The National Citizen Party (NCP), which came third in the
general elections, announced it would stage a protest march from in front of the party head
office at Bangla Motor in the capital on Saturday night.
The demonstration would begin around 11pm in protest against
the countrywide violence inflicted by BNP on opposition activists and voters
since the 12 February general elections, NCP said in a Facebook post.
BNP has carried out murder attempts, vandalism, illegal
occupation, arson attacks and other forms of terrorist attacks on the
opposition 11-party alliance since the voting closed, the youth-led party
alleged in the facebook post.
Some of the critically injured are undergoing treatment at
the Ibn Sina Hospital in Kalyanpur, Dhaka, NCP said in another facebook post.
Earlier, NCP leader Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain visited the
injured at the hospital. Upon leaving the hospital, Asif told reporters that
around a thousand opposition activists and supporters have been injured since the
election day.
