Bangladesh Election 2026: Historic voting ends

Voting in the 13th National Parliamentary Election and Referendum concluded across the country on Thursday evening, marking the end of a day-long polling process held amid tight security and widespread participation.

Polling began at 7:30am and continued uninterrupted until 4:30pm in 299 parliamentary constituencies.

Voters in both urban and rural areas were seen lining up at polling centers throughout the day, with turnout increasing notably after noon.

With the close of voting, ballot counting began at polling centers under the supervision of election officials and in the presence of candidates’ agents.

The Election Commission is expected to start announcing results as counting progresses.
