Additional metro rail trips set to transport funeral goers

The Dhaka metro rail authority will operate additional trips beyond the usual schedule to help people join Khaleda Zia’s funeral on Wednesday, it said in a notification.

The Dhaka Mass Transit Company Ltd (DMTCL) will provide special additional metro rail services beyond the regular timetable to help passengers join the funeral of the former three-time prime minister, read the notification issued Tuesday.

Intense traffic is expected in the capital as a huge number of people would join the funeral prayers in Manik Mia Avenue and the National Parliament area around 2pm.

Additional metro rail trips would help ease the traffic congestion, and allow the funeral goers to join the prayers in a faster and more convenient way.
