CJ inaugurates Supreme Court Secretariat

Chief Justice (CJ) Syed Refaat Ahmed inaugurated the Supreme Court Secretariat at Administrative Building-4 on the SC premises around 3:20pm on Thursday.

Law Adviser Asif Nazrul and Supreme Court Registrar General Md Habibur Rahman Siddiqui were present, among others, at the inauguration event.

On 30 November, the government issued the Supreme Court Secretariat Ordinance, 2025 with the aim of ensuring full independence of the judiciary. Through this ordinance, the judiciary has been officially separated from the executive branch.

The Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs issued the ordinance.
