Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Chairman Mohammad Abdul Momen has urged voters to reject corrupt and extortionist candidates in the upcoming national elections, saying that electing honest leaders could significantly reduce corruption in Bangladesh.
Speaking on Tuesday (9 December) at an event marking International Anti-Corruption Day, Momen warned that corruption is deeply rooted in society, making its complete eradication difficult.
He called on young people to take an active role in this regard.
“For corrupt individuals, every day is a festival. But even a single day of determined action by anti-corruption people can rein them in.”
