Two more deaths were reported from dengue in the past 24 hours till Monday morning, raising the number of fatalities from the Aedes mosquito-borne disease in Bangladesh to 398 this year.
In the 24-hour span, 455 more patients were hospitalised with viral fever, raising the total caseload to 98,284 in 2025.
The new fatalities – all men – were reported in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
DGHS data shows that men account for 62.4% of infections so far this year, while women represent 37.6%. Among the deceased, 52.3% were men and 47.7% were women.
Currently, 1,654 patients are receiving treatment in hospitals across the country.
Dengue killed 575 people in 2024, with 1,01,214 cases recorded. The previous year saw the country’s worst outbreak on record, with 1,705 deaths and 3,21,179 hospitalisations.
