A clash between two rival groups over land dispute in Kurigram’s Nageshwari upazila left three people dead and seriously injured another person on Sunday afternoon.

The confrontation broke out between two rival groups in Hailatari village under Santoshpur Union. 

Locals said a long-running dispute over ownership of that piece of land escalated in the afternoon, leading to the fatal violence.

Nageshwari Police Station Officer-in-Charge Rezaul Karim Reza confirmed the deaths and said police are investigating the incident. 

He also said the injured victim is receiving urgent medical treatment.

Police have deployed additional forces in the area to prevent further unrest, and are working to identify those responsible for the attack.
