Gridlocks, ticket crisis torment Eid vacationers leaving Dhaka

Eid vacationers were seen stranded at different bus, launch and railway counters across the capital as they waited for hours to get a ticket out of the city on Thursday, just a day ahead of the mega festival.

Exploiting the desperation of the vacationers, some were selling tickets at higher than allowed rates.

The picture was the same at all major counters: Sadarghat, Kamlapur, Mohakhali, Gabtoli, Sayedabad, among others.

Whoever could manage an overpriced ticket suffered further troubles in the forms of acute gridlocks on almost all the major highways leading out of Dhaka.
