A special cultural evening featuring Kazi Nazrul Islam’s “Leto Gaan” and “Kabigaan” will be held at the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy today.
As part of the ongoing celebrations of Nazrul Barsho, the event will be held at the National Music and Dance Centre auditorium at 6:30pm.
Cultural Affairs Minister Nitai Roy Chowdhury will attend the event as the chief guest while State Minister Ali Newaz Mahmud Khaiyam and Prime Minister’s Information and Broadcasting Adviser Dr Zahed Ur Rahman will attend as special guests.
“Leto Gaan” and “Kabigaan” are two vibrant folk-art traditions of rural Bengal. In these traditions, songs become conversations, rhythm becomes the pulse of everyday life, and artistes become the voices expressing the joys and sorrows of the people.
