Some 61.2 percent youths are suffering from depression during the pandemic situation while the half of them couldn’t express their thoughts to near and dear ones, revealed a rights group study.
Social organisation Aachol Foundation unveiled the study through a virtual press conference on Saturday. They surveyed 2026 people aged 18 to 35 years.
The study found that 85.1 percent of youths spend time on social media more than two hours while 14.9 percent passes time on the online platform less than the time frame. The engagement in social media creates negative impact on mental health of the youths, researchers mentioned.
Some 63.5 percent youths claimed that the mental pressure has increased significantly during the pandemic while 34.9 percent responders mentioned experiencing extreme pressure, according to the study.
