Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Atiqul Islam on Monday said that they would cancel the trade licenses of the shop owners who are keeping their shops open after the newly-fixed trading hours during the lockdown.
“Everyone has to be aware and maintain health protocol for the protection of their family. If we stick to health guidelines, we can curb the Covid-19 infection,” he told reporters.
The mayor said the DNCC has taken an initiative to hand out food among impoverished people in the city.
“If any needy person calls 333 for aid, we will send the food to their houses,” he added.
He further said, “DNCC has planned to construct an underpass for easing the traffic jam at Bijoy Sarani. We will also renovate the dilapidated water fountains in different intersections.”
Atiqul also urged the city dwellers to file complaints using ‘Sobar Dhaka’ if they receive poor services from the city corporation.
