Two arrested with 20 looted bullets in Brahmanbaria

BRAHMANBARIA: Police has arrested two men and recovered 20 rounds of bullets that were theft during Hefazat mayhem on March 28 in the district town.

The arrested persons are—Arab Ali, 40, son of Samir Ali, of Suhilpur in Sadar upazila and Monir Mia, 42, son of late Ramiz Mia, both of them are fruits trader.

A special team of Brahmanbaria police arrested them on Friday afternoon.

The information was disclosed in a press release signed by Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime and Administration) Raich Uddin.

The release said that around 100-150 unidentified miscreants blocked a police vehicle of Moulvibazar district police lines, carrying accused to Brahmanbaria, on the road at the end of Suhilpur Bazar under Sadar Model Police Station at around 7.30 pm during the Hefazat’s hartal in March.

At that time, they beat police personnel badly and stole 20 rounds of ammunition. The attack also made an opportunity for the accused to escape.

In this regard, Moulvibazar police Naik Mohiuddin filed a case with Brahmanbaria Sadar Model Police Station.

Acting on tip off, a special team of police arrested two men on Friday and according to their information, 20 rounds of Chinese bullets were recovered from the roof of Piyasa Sweet Store in Suhilpur Bazar under Brahmanbaria Sadar Police Station.
