Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Tuesday hinted that the duration of the upcoming home series against West Indies might be shortened as the tourists want to complete the tour in the shortest period of time.
According to BCB insiders if that is the case then a Test might be axed from the fixtures.West Indies are due to visit for two Tests and three ODIs as BCB looks to reschedule a slew of international series which have been cancelled due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation. BCB has presented a comprehensive COVID-19 management plan to its West Indian counterpart for approval ahead of the upcoming home series in January.
“We are talking with the West Indies Cricket Board regularly and sent them a bio-bubble plan that we have also sent to our government as well. We can take a final decision in this regard after receiving feedback from West Indies Cricket,” BCB Chief Executive Nizamuddin Chowdhury told reporters on Tuesday.
“West Indies Cricket requested us to complete the series in the shortest period of time by fulfilling all the requirements of FTP and we are working on that. But we are yet to take a final decision in this regard,” he said.
