Houses for homeless being built in Gaibandha

GAIBANDHA: Brick-built houses are being constructed for the homeless people of Fulchhari upazila in the district at the initiative of the government.

As many as 10 houses are being built under the direct supervision of upazila administration under the Ashrayan project of the government at the cost of Taka 10.10 lakh.

Deputy commissioner (DC) Abdul Matin on Monday visited the under construction houses of the upazila and talked to the officials concerned about the progress of the houses.

The officials concerned briefed the DC saying that over 50 percent work had already been completed and the rest work would be finished at the end of the current month.

The deputy commissioner urged the officials to do the works properly and timely without any criticism.

He also exchanged views with the selected beneficiaries about the houses to be handed over to them free of cost after construction.

UNO Abu Raihan Dolon, upazila project implementation officer Nitun Kundu, public representatives, local elite and media men were present on the occasion.
