Sadharan Bima manager sued for corruption

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Monday filed a case against Sadharan Bima Corporation (SBC) Manager Md Abul Kashem on charges of embezzlement of Tk 26.14 crore.

The anti-graft body’s Assistant Director Mohammad Sirajul Haque filed the case with its integrated district office Dhaka-1 accusing Abul Kashem, who is now the manager at the audit and compliance department of the SBC’s head office in Dhaka, said ACC Director (media) Pranab Kumar Bhattacharjee.

The commission brought charges against Kashem, also former manager at SBC’s new market branch in the capital, under sections 409,467,468 and 471 of Penal Code and  section 5 (2) of Anti-Corruption Act -2004 and 4 (2) of Prevention of Money Laundering Act-2012.
