Corona death rate decreases

25 more die, 1,683 new cases detected in 24 hrs

The death rate from coronavirus infection has decreased to 1.44 percent in the country though 25 more patients died in the last 24 hours till 8:00am on Monday.

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said in a bulletin that the total number of deaths from Covid-19 disease has reached 6,092 in the country.

It said a total of 4,21,921 coronavirus patients have so far been detected in the country as 1,683 new cases were found in the last 24 hours.

A total of 1,623 more patients have recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours, raising the total number to 3,39,768.

“The recovery rate from Covid-19 has reached 80.53 percent in the country,” it said.

The health directorate said 17.17 percent of the samples have been diagnosed with coronavirus and 1.44 percent patients have died.

Some 11.99 percent samples have been diagnosed with the fatal disease in a day.

A total of 14,042 samples, out of 14,005 collected, were tested at 115 labs in the country during the period, the report added.  A total of 24,56,644 samples have been tested to detect coronavirus infection across the country so far.

The first case of Covid-19 was detected on March 8 while the first death was recorded on March 18 in the country.
